HERO....

His name is Siphiwe Tshabalala, but South Africa will simply remember him as a World Cup hero. At 55 minutes into the opening game of the 2010 World Cup, Tshabalala scored the tournament’s first goal.

To get all the firsts out of the way, it was also the first time South Africa has scored a World Cup goal on their own soil, the first time an African nation scored a World Cup goal in their own continent and the first time 85,000 fans at Soccer City Stadium had a reason to blow those damn vuvuzelas in celebration.

“The goal was a great one and I am happy to have been in the position to score it,” Tshabalala told Goal.com. “I didn’t have to think, the chance came and I took it. I am happy about the goal and I want to score more.”

The boot, a direct left-legged strike as Tshabalala ran full tilt toward Mexican goalkeeper Oscar Perez, snapped into the net’s top right corner. He then led his team in a mesmerizing and well-rehearsed celebration dance that sent his fans further into rapture.

The goal was Bafana Bafana’s only one of the day, as they went on to draw with Mexico 1-1. Tshabalala’s goal earned him Man of the Match honours. Within moment of the goal, the South African winger’s complicated name was trending across Twitter and splashed across the Internet.

The Kaizer Chiefs’ winger had his Wikipedia page was temporarily altered, re-naming him Zinedine Zidane II — an homage to the retired French star’s penchant for big goals on the world stage. Zidane led France to a championship on home soil, in his first World Cup appearance.

The man known as “Shabba” began his career at South Africa’s Alexandra United at the start of his senior career. He has been playing for the Kaizer Chiefs in the country’s Premier Soccer League since 2007 and led his team with six goals in 30 games last season. His Chiefs placed third, and he was named the club’s most valuable player.

Tshabalala joined the national team in 2006 and had scored seven goals in 49 international games before his World Cup debut.

“We just have to get out there and down onto the field and make the nation and ourselves proud,” Tshabalala told reporters leading up to the World Cup.

pink ribbon

Ribbons have been used to express solidarity on the part of the wearer with the identified cause since the early to late 20th Century. Pink Ribbons (and the color pink) are used to express support for those who are diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

In the fall of 1991, the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed out pink ribbons to participants in its New York City race for breast cancer survivors.[1]

The next year, Alexandra Penney, who was the editor-in-chief of Self,[2] a woman health magazine, was working on the second annual National Breast Cancer Awareness Month issue. Evelyn Lauder, who was the senior corporate vice president at Estée Lauder, was invited to be the guest editor of the NBCAM issue edition in 1992. Penney and Lauder came up with the idea to create a ribbon and to enlist the cosmetics giant to distribute it in stores in New York City. Evelyn Lauder then promised to spread the ribbons throughout the entire country, but a color for the ribbon was not yet decided upon.

Charlotte Hayley, who battled breast cancer, produced peach color ribbons. She sold them with a card saying, "The National Cancer Institute annual budget is 1.8 billion US Dollars, and only 5 percent goes for cancer prevention. Help us wake up our legislators and America by wearing this ribbon".[3] Her message spread fast. This made Penny and Evelyn Lauder interested in Hayley's concept. They offered to adapt Hayley's idea by working with her. But Hayley rejected the offer, saying that they were too commercial.

After discussing opportunities with Lauder, Hayley and their lawyers, they came up with a "new" color. The new color of the ribbon was pink and became an international symbol for breast cancer awareness.

The Red ribbon is a symbol for solidarity with HIV-positive people and those living with AIDS

BP Oil Spill Live Feed Update: BP Holds On Oil Spill Cap to Put Off Oil Spill

Oil Spill Cap Was Called for Lifting: BP Oil Spill Live Feed – Update about the Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico is still the main problem that the country is facing now. In fact, the Top senate Democrats now called for a sweeping overhaul of the country’s corporate liability laws in the problem at the Gulf of Mexico oil Spill.

And after series of test with the different procedure just to prevent the oil spill, finally the government has thought of the oil spill containment cap which they think will work well to solve their main problem.

With the recent report about the oil spill issue, the containment cap has grabbed a reported one million gallons with about 400,000 on Sunday and 600,000 Monday. The amounts are far less than anticipated with the large plume of oil still visible discharging from the broken riser pipe deep in the Gulf of Mexico floor.

Now that the BP has already announced that the second cup would be place on the oil very well just to contain more oil than the previous one. This attempt to change out the caps will not come until next month with the relief wells to be completed later in 2010 which will totally stop any oil from damaging the waterways around the Gulf Coast
